Boob Tube Time

[Mood] Dead tired
[Music] Pink- Feel Good Time

I'm so lethargic today. I got 5 hours of sleep again last night finishing up my long-term assignment and sketchbook drawings for my art course. Yay, it's all over and done with! Now time to enjoy my summer :P

On Canadian Idol, in a suprising(?) turn of events, 2 Wildcards have been chosen to move on instead of 1, making it a Top 11. And they are:

1. Karen Lee-Batten, 23, BC
2. Gary Beals, 20, NS
3. Mikey Bustos, 22, ON
4. Candida Clauseri, 20, ON
5. Audrey de Montigny, 17, QC
6. Jenny Gear, 21, NL
7. Billy Klippert, 24, AB
8. Tyler Hamilton, 26, AB
9. Richie Wilcox, 23, NS
10. Toya Alexis, 22, ON (Wildcard)
11. Ryan Malcolm, 24, ON (Wildcard)

I'm rooting for Mikey, Audrey and Ryan :)

And, oh is Big Brother 4 getting more exciting! We have Dana, who was originally part of the Elite Eight, now betraying her alliance and siding with the Ex's by nominating Alison and Jack. But who should go? Alison- becuase she only has Nathan to depend on. Well, in a desperate fight to win the Veto competition, Nate comes through and wins the Golden Veto to save his good ol' Alison. But hold on-- who will be put up for nomination in Alison's place instead? Dana and her team have warned Erika, Jack and Dave that if Nathan is actually idiotic enough to use the Veto, sweet ol' David (who has nicely perfected his hammock splashing technique) will be nominated. Talks ensue to convince Nathan to play it smart, but alas, he obeys Alison and saves his master. Now David is on the chopping block... oh the terrible things that will happen soon. Now the house is divided up into 3 opposing groups rather than 2. Exciting....

To Be A Kid Again

I was just sifting through some old e-mail over the weekend and stumbled upon this one that got me all nostalgic about my childhood *sigh*.

I want to be a kid again. I want to go back to the time when:

Decisions were made by going "enemy-meeny-miney-mo."
Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!"
"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.
Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "Monopoly."
Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening.
It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.
Being old referred to anyone over 20.
The net on a tennis court was the perfect height to play volleyball and rules didn't matter.
The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.
It was magic when dad would "remove" his thumb.
It was unbelievable that dodgeball wasn't an Olympic event.
Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot.
Nobody was prettier than Mom.
Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better.
It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park.
Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.
Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare."
Saturday morning cartoons weren't 30-minute ads for action figures.
No shopping trip was complete unless a new toy was brought home.
"Oly-oly-oxen-free" made perfect sense.
Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.
The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team.
War was a card game.
Water balloons were the ultimate weapon.
Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle.
Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin.
Ice cream was considered a basic food group.
Older siblings were the worst tormentors but also the fiercest protectors!

La La La

So I just got back from Justine's b-day celebration an hour and a half ago. We went to dinner at Il Fornello's then went dancing at Jai Bar, which was really fun. I hadn't been dancing since last August (I should get out more!) so it was great!

‘Til the early morn’
Let’s get it on
Let’s get it on ‘til the early morn'

... must ... sleep...

22 Going on 90

Last night before I went to bed I had a little bit of pain on the right side of my left knee. At 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. I woke up to excruciating pain in my knee. I couldn't bend my knee and I was just suffering in my bed. After I woke up my knee swollen and was still in pain though not as much as before. Is this arthritis or was someone using the Cruciatus Curse on me??

Blue Man Group: The Complex Tour

Wow, the Blue Man Group performance last night was incredible! Justine, Brad, and I had second row center seats. They were technically row 4 seats, but the first and second rows were actually at the sides of the stage so there was only one row between us and the stage.

Here are some of Brad's pics from the show.

The first opening act was Tracy Bonham, who's an extremely talented singer, violinist and guitarist. The next act was Venus Hum, who had a really weird lead singer! She wore a big flower in her hair, red plastic glasses, purple dress with white, orange and green flower prints, large bright green bracelet, and no shoes. She danced around like a 5-year old kid and had a Björk style of singing in a few songs. Her first song sounded pretty bad, but it turned out that she was a really good singer and had a few pretty enjoyable songs.

While waiting for Blue Man Group to come out, there were two LED marquee signs on either end of the stage displaying messages that opposed each other. The left sign was the fun, laid-back sign ("Now is the time to go pee Or to buy some overpriced beverages"), while the right one was the serious boring sign dispensing facts about the internet. Both were bickering with each other ("The sign on the left is bitter because it did not make it into the show") and got the audience memebers to say things like "The sign on the right sucks". It was pretty cute!

The Blue Man Group performance was based on the idea of becoming a rock star. The show was an instruction manual teaching one how to be a rock star by following guidelines. Throughout the show the audience would be introduced to a rock movement:

Rock movement #1: The Head Bob
Rock movement #2: The One-Armed Fist Pump
Rock movement #3: The Jump
Rock movement #8: The Blackout
Rock movement #9: The Show
Rock movement #54: Bringing out the Guest Vocalist

There were many other rock movements including Saying Hello to the People in the Cheap Seats, The Fake Ending, and Getting Closer to the Audience, where the group had a camera look down a man's throat. At one point of the show they started playing their drums that splattered paint upwards. To create the music they used a creative variety of instruments like air poles, pvc tubes, and even a grand piano laid on its side for banging the strings. At the end of the show they were playing a backpack tubulum that allowed them to move around the stage and play and had rockets attatched to the sides. They later used those rockets to fire a mass long strings of confetti into the audience, which was really cool.

I Lost My Camera in Vegas

Anyone who's seen the M&M's 3-D movie at M&M's World in Las Vegas will recall the title, "I Lost My M in Vegas". Well, I left my Olympus Advantix newpic 90 camera at Caesars Palace (and someone stole it) with my whole roll of film gone that was almost finished. If you're gonna steal my camera, at least have the heart to leave the film behind! :( Good thing I also had my Contax RTS camera with me on the trip so I could still take great photos and not have to resort to buying disposible cameras (oh, the horror!).

Well, now I'm shopping for a new automatic camera. I'm looking at Advantix cameras... even though I know they're dying out I can't resist the three picture format choices, the easy drop-in loading, and the fact that you can change cartidges mid-roll (so you can switch between film speeds and between colour and B&W).

The Centurion S completely fulfills all my requirements for a camera (plus it's an SLR!), but it's discontinued and I can only find a refurbished one through Electro Net Distributers online.
I also like Yashica cameras so I've been eying the Profile Zoom 4000 IX. I like the unique shape of the model and the fact that the zoom is so powerful. But you can't change cartridges mid-roll which is a big minus.
