Is It Finally Over?

*Gasps* Wow, it is... unbelievable! It seemed like school would never end. Even after classes ended, I somehow found myself working day and night (literally) on an assignment for another week... I can't even begin to explain how wrong that was.

I guess coming back from PEY I expected that going back to school full-time was going to require a bit of an adjustment... but I definitely wasn't prepared for all the turmoil I encountered this year. I took some CS courses during PEY so I wasn't completely out of the academic groove of things, and I figured that getting those courses out of my way would lessen my burden this year. I only had 1.5 CS courses this year with the rest being art courses. Ironically, this year turned out to be the roughest one I'd ever had. I think I pulled more all-nighters this year than in all my other years combined... like, jeez, in just the last 3 weeks of school (and the 1 week of non-school) I saw the sun rise 6 times. On the flip side though, I had a surprisingly fun year. I met a bunch of new people and participated in CSSU events for the first time I've been at U of T. I'm not one to get invovled in student unions and stuff, but I'm actually going to be on the CSSU next year, which I totally didn't expect myself to be a part of. So... something to look forward to next school year!

Here are some important things I learned this year:
  • :: Art projects take up a LOT of time.
  • :: I'm a slow worker.
  • :: The CS program is a lot more social than Visual Studies.
  • :: Don't work with anyone who says they're looking for hard-working group members... 'cuz they're most likely lazy and want the rest of the group to do their work for them. *ahem "superstar"*
  • :: Planned all-nighters are useless. You might as well have gone to bed.
  • :: 1 night of no sleep + 4 hours of standing + nasty darkroom chemical fumes + no food = siiiiickness
  • :: If you want to make lots of money from a date auction, auction off anyone that's not in CS.
  • :: If it doesn't work, switch computers.

Good luck next year. I don't want to see a fish that looks older than it actually is.
