Weekend Again *Yipee*

This past long weekend was a camping weekend for me. It was my first time camping since grade 10, making that about 8 years. Can't believe it was that long ago. It was different this time around because it was with a group of friends rather than being in a supervised group of Girl Guides. There were 16 of us staying at Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, which is just a bit north of Algonquin Park. We started our trip at 3am from Yorkdale Saturday morning so that we were the first ones there at the office before it opened at 9am in order to grab the last 3 available non-reservable sites.

On Saturday I relaxed/read/slept on the beach, explored the rocky shore by the river, took a jog, and went hiking. In the evening I sat by the lake to watch the full moon and star gaze. Unfortunately that night I wore sandals and ended up with around 20 bug bites on my feet.

Sunday was canoe day. We headed to the northern part of Algonquin, which is more wild and tranquil than the southern end. With 6 canoes for our group we paddled out onto Kioshkowi Lake and for the next 5 hours it was just us alone in the wildnerness. It was simply amazing- an experience I'll never forget. I brought my Contax and Olympus cameras along for the ride and took many pictures of the gorgeous scenery. I'm getting the pictures back tomorrow; I hope they turn out alright.

I can't believe it's already the weekend again.
